The Saturdays star Rochelle Wiseman was understandably terrified when doctors found a cyst on one of her ovaries.
Rochelle, 22, feared not just for her health, but that she and JLS singer Marvin Humes, 26, would never be able to start a family. Luckily, surgery sorted out her problem.
'I had a really good doctor who put me at ease,' she says.
'I was really scared about the operation but I just wanted to get it over with.'
Rochelle became curvier because her condition affected her metabolism and the former S Club Juniors member was was the victim of online bullies.
'It made me put on weight. I went up a full dress size bigger - from a size 8 up to a 10, maybe even a 12,' she tells the Daily Mirror.
'Everyone thinks I've tried to lose weight, but I genuinely haven't.
'I had a lot of nasty comments, so I wanted to speak out to prove I didn't give a sh*t about gaining extra weight.'
