Noel Gallagher formed Oasis with sibling Liam at the start of the 90s and enjoyed huge success.
But the Manchester brothers, who are believed to worth more than £60 million, have often fought between themselves. The group split in August 2009 with the Gallagher boys not even on speaking terms.
Now their relationship has got so bad that it's in the hands of lawyers.
Liam launched a libel suit in August after Noel accused him of missing their 2009 V Festival gig in Chelmsford because he was hung
over.
Liam, who was diagnosed with laryngitis - received an aplology but Noel, 44, has now lodged a 14-page document at the High Court in London that claims the 39-year-old left abusive voicemail messages on his wife Sara's phone and tried to attack him with a guitar.
Noel and Liam could end up battling it out in court next summer.
'Neither shows any sign of budging,' a source tells the Daily Mirror. 'It seems to be total deadlock - and they aren't pulling any punches.'
A spokesman for Liam says: 'After Noel apologised the matter is now in the hands of lawyers.'
Noel declined to comment.
