Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber's 'baby' comes close to death

The two young lovebirds are nursing a sick pup

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber confirmed they were dating in February

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez's pet dog was seriously ill last week after a very dodgy meal.

Husky-mix puppy Baylor, who was adopted by Justin and Selena last month, swallowed some rocks and was so unwell it looked as if he'd need an operation. 

'My baby is sick :( praying for his surgery,' Tweeted Selena, 18, who's currently on her We Own The Night tour.

Fortunately, Baylor - who was rescued by the couple from D'Arcy's Animal Rescue Centre in Winnipeg, Canada - passed the stones and avoided going under the knife. 

Selena also fell sick recently and turned to Baylor for comfort when 17-year-old Justin wasn't around.

'After 12 hours of medicine, tea, 1374 cans of soup and throwing up right when I get off stage ending my night with Baylor watching friends is perfect,' Selena, 18, posted online alongside a cute photo of her snuggled up with the pup.
