Charlotte Church has denied 'embarrassing' reports that she asked boyfriend Jonathan Powell to marry her after a pub karaoke night.
The singer was said to have performed The Ronettes' Be My Baby before she 'slumped' on a chair next to Jonathan, 25, and proposed - to which he answered yes.
'Jonathan was thrilled and Charlotte was very happy,' a friend told The People.
'She was singing I'm Getting Married In The Morning as we helped her to the taxi afterwards.'
But Charlotte - who reportedly popped the question at her aunt's Cardiff pub the Robin Hood - insists there's no truth to the story.
'I have not proposed to my boyfriend, drunkenly or otherwise,' says Charlotte, 25, in a statement.
'It is embarrassing for me and him and for our families and friends to read I have (proposed).
'I was in fact performing in a completely different town.'
Charlotte split from rugby star Gavin Henson, 29, in May 2010.
