Dawn French loses more weight on diet and shows off ever-shrinking frame

Dawn French looked super-svelte at the Galaxy National Book Awards on Friday.

The 5ft comedienne, who split from husband Lenny Henry, 53, in April last year, wore a chic embellished black dress and showed off a new asymmetric bob on the red carpet at the London event.

Dawn, who once weighed 19st, stunned fans when she stepped out 4 and a half stone lighter in June this year and has continued to slim down by sticking to her weight loss plan.  

Rumours Dawn had been fitted with a Fern Britton-inspired gastric band, were dismissed by her spokesman Neil Reading last year.

'Utter rubbish, Neil told the Daily Mail. 'It's just healthy eating.' 

Mum-of-one Dawn admitted that she was prompted to shed the pounds because she'd started worrying about her health.

'When you're over 50, you kind of have to pay attention to your health a bit,' Dawn, 54, told ITV1's This Morning.

'I want to be there for my kid and I have quite a lot of exciting adventures that I want to do.'
