Actress Zooey Deschanel and singer Ben Gibbard's split was 'amicable'

Zooey Deschanel and Ben Gibbard tied the knot in September 2009

Zooey Deschanel has announced her split from musician husband Ben Gibbard after just 2 years of marriage.

The New Girl actress and the Death Cab For Cutie frontman wed in 2009, but they've since drifted apart. 

'It was mutual and amicable,' confirms a rep. 'There was no third party involved.'

Zooey, 31, and Ben, 35, started dating 3 years ago.
