Cheryl Cole may have been angry with Simon Cowell for dumping her from US X Factor, but their friendly banter remains.

Chezza, 28, sent the music mogul a very special birthday greeting on 7 October.

'She really did send a plane over a Miami house that Simon was staying in recently, sporting a birthday banner saying: "Simon Cowell is 52 today - ha ha ha. Love Cheryl",' reveals Piers Morgan.

'She admitted: "I knew it would be the one thing he'd least like to receive..."' 

Piers joined Cheryl in Beverly Hills for dinner at Sushi Roku and the pair had a fun time.

'Forget all the stuff you've read about Cheryl being down,' Piers, 46, writes in his Live magazine column.

'She's back on top form and raring to go again.'
