Brad Pitt is still Jennifer Aniston's lifeline

Although new beau Justin Theroux, 40, has been keeping a vigil with Jennifer Aniston since her mum's stroke, Jen's been making tearful calls to Brad Pitt.

Although Brad had admitted he was 'bored with life' while married to the Friends star, she's still an important figure in his life.

'Jen is an incredibly giving, loving and hilarious woman who remains my friend,' he says.

'It's an important relationship that I value greatly.'

And Jen feels Brad, 47, is the only person who understands about the feud with her mum, sparked when Nancy spilled the beans about her in a 1996 TV interview.

‘Jen's feeling guilty about all the years she's held a grudge,' says our source.

‘Brad knows the history and when they were married he tried to help her build bridges with Nancy.

'He's told Jen to call any time.'
