Dad-of-one Wayne Rooney had a hair transplant in June

Wayne Rooney has revealed his plans for a glam new hair colour.

The Manchester United footballer Tweeted his teammate Phil Jones, 19, to ask about his not-so-natural blond streaks.

'Were did u get ur highlights done mate. Thinking about getting it done myself. They look awesome haha,' Wayne, 25, Tweeted this week.

Wayne spent £30,000 on a hair transplant at a top private medical centre earlier this year.

The balding star, who's married to Coleen Rooney, 25, had healthy hair follicles moved from the back to the front of his head.

'It's fine to colour or highlight transplanted hair,' a spokeswoman at the Harley Street Hair Clinic tells the Daily Record.

'It's the patient's hair.'
