Mitch Winehouse: Amy attended her own funeral as a butterfly

Amy Winehouse’s father believes the singer sent a sign to her loved ones

Mitch Winehouse can't help getting emotional when he talks about the death of daughter Amy Winehouse.

Amy died alone at home in Camden, North London on 23 July.

London cab-driver Mitch, 60, is convinced the Back To Black singer is still with him in spirit and that she was present at her own funeral in the form of a black butterfly.

'When I did the eulogy at her funeral, as I got up to speak, a black butterfly came in,' he told US TV host Anderson Cooper in an interview.

'I had my head down because I was reading, and I could hear people muttering and I thought the paparazzi had got in.

'It landed on Kelly Osbourne's shoulder, then flew around me.

'Have you ever heard anything like that in your life? It's incredible.'

Toxicology tests have shown that no illegal substances were present in Amy's body at the time of her death and Mitch believes she died of a seizure.

Amy's family await the conclusion of an inquest on 26 October.
