Duke and Duchess are not expecting double joy

Prince William and Kate Middleton are not expecting

Kate Middleton and Prince William have laughed off wild rumours that they're expecting twins.

A US magazine claimed that William - who married Kate in April - 'almost collapsed with joy' at the news that two babies were on the way, but the speculation has been instantly dismissed by Buckingham Palace.

‘Suffice to say that were it true, it would be us that announces it,' says a rep for the Duke and Duchess.

William, 29, and Kate, 29, have previously spoken of their desire to start a family in the future.

‘We'll sort of take it one step at a time,' said the Prince when the pair announced their engagement in November.

‘We'll sort of get over the marriage thing first, then look at the kids.

‘But obviously, we want a family.'
