X Factor host Dermot O'Leary embraced his wild side - we knew he had one hidden somewhere - when he enjoyed a day at London Zoo with girlfriend Dee Koppang.

Dermot, 38, and Dee paid a special visit to the Galapagos tortoise exhibit to meet elderly Dirk.
 
The lucky TV presenter was even allowed inside the enclosure to get properly acquainted.

Dermot fed an afternoon snack of figs to Dirk - who was completely unfazed by the presenter's celebrity status.

That's because Dirk is a bit of a celebrity in his own right.

When the 70-year old tortoise first arrived at London Zoo, he made headlines after being given the nickname Dirty Dirk for being an instant hit with all the females in the enclosure!
