Blake Fielder-Civil's girlfriend: l could never compete with Amy Winehouse

Sarah Aspin knows that Blake and Amy had an intense bond

Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil divorced in 2009

She's been his rock since he was informed of ex-wife Amy Winehouse's sudden death.

But Blake Fielder-Civil's long-suffering girlfriend Sarah Aspin, 33, 
who has a son with 
him, believes 
she's always been second-best to Amy.

And even after her death she fears she always will be.

Speaking exclusively to Now, Sarah says: ‘Amy was always going to be part of my relationship with Blake.

‘You felt her presence a great deal.

‘It was just like she was always in the background.'

Unfortunately for the mum of one, it was clear from the very beginning that Blake only showed interest in her because she reminded him of Amy.

The pair's relationship didn't have 
the most romantic of starts - they 
met in rehab in 2009.

She says: ‘When I first met him 
and I showed him some pictures of 
me when I was younger, he said a few times that I had the look of Amy.

‘And that was his way of saying he still loved Amy, because he went for a girl that not only looked like her, but also resembled her in some ways.'
