Alex Turner and Alexa Chung's 4-year relationship is over

Alexa Chung and her Arctic Monkeys frontman boyfriend Alex Turner have split up.

The 27-year-old TV presenter and former model has reportedly moved out of the New York apartment she shared with Alex, 25, who's currenty on a world tour with his band.

'Sadly Alexa and Alex have split, although they remain close,' says Alexa's spokesperson.

The couple started dating in April 2007 but struggled to make their relationship work because of their hectic schedules.

'Alexa is concentrating on getting her American TV career back on track,' a source tells tells MailOnline.

'Alex has gigs in America next month, but none of them are on the East Coast. Then he's planning a UK tour.

'They are very busy and have grown apart, but want to keep the news quiet.'
