Kimberley Walsh says the amount of attention Cheryl Cole gets in America is scary.

The Girls Aloud star has just returned from a holiday in LA with her band mate, but the pair struggled to have a relaxing time because Cheryl's so well known now.

'Cheryl gets hounded out there by the paparazzi - it was terrifying,' says Kimberley, 29.

'We braved them a few times but they were insanely psycho - climbing over people's property.

'People had to call the police to get rid of them.'

Cheryl, 28, became an instant star in the US when she joined Simon Cowell as a judge on US X Factor in May, and again when she was axed from her position just weeks later. 

'It made me realise what it's like for her,' says Kimberley. 'I get scared for her in the madness.'
