Michelle Keegan has denied she and Max George have broken up

Michelle Keegan says rumours she and Max George, 23, have called off their plans to marry is rubbish.

The Wanted singer and Corrie's sexy barmaid met at the end of 2009 when they were set up by Max's dad at a mutual friend's wedding.

The couple, who flew to the Caribbean together for New Year, are still devoted and when they announced their engaged in May last year, said they were in no hurry to tie the knot.

'The date had never been set. They are still very much a couple,' says a spokesman for Michelle, 24, who has also reTweeted a fan's post saying: 'The story is just ridiculous. They've always said they weren't marrying this year!'

Max was given the Keegan family's when he met her folks early in 2011. 

'It really was like Meet The Fockers...' says the Coronation Street star, 24.

'Dad's a police inspector. He's retired now but that just gives him more time at home to check up on what I'm doing.'

But Max passed all Michelle's father's tests.

'My dad really likes him,' she told Buzz.

'They're both Manchester City supporters which sealed it.'
