Brian McFadden has revealed that he was prepared for the recent photos of ex-fiancée Delta Goodrem on a date with Nick Jonas.

Delta, 26, was snapped leaving the cinema with the 18-year-old Jonas brother just weeks after she split from the Australia's Got Talent judge. 

'It was positive. She looks happy, if she's happy I don't mind,' says Brian, 30. 'She's on a date with a guy, she's got a smile on her face.

'If she's happy I'm happy. I'm a straight shooter. If I didn't like it I would have said something or cracked it on Twitter. I didn't mind.'

But Brian's still feeling protective of Aussie singer Delta, who he was with for 7 years. 

'She told me about it beforehand, whatever makes her happy,' he tells the Australian Telegraph. 'But there's a warning from me, if anyone hurts her they're dead.'
