Gail Porter 'recovering after apparent suicide attempt'

Gail Porter suffers from alopecia, which makes her hair fall out

Gail Porter was found locked in her bathroom by police with cuts to her arms and chest in what was an apparent suicide attempt on Wednesday.

The former kids' TV presenter was taken to hospital and is now recovering at her home in North London.

'Police were called to an address in Belsize Park at approximately 21.00 hours on Wednesday following concerns for the welfare of a resident,' a Met Police spokeswoman tells The Sun.

'A woman was detained under the Mental Health Act and taken to a medical facility.'

The incident comes just weeks after Gail, 40 - who battles alopecia - was kept in hospital for 4 days for a reported suicide threat after an argument with 25-year-old boyfriend Jonny Davies.  

Her daughter Honey, 8, is believed to be in the care of musician father Dan Hipgrave, 35. 

'We won't be making any statement as we are striving to seek privacy at this very stressful time for Gail,' a spokesperson for the Scottish star tells Now.
