Matthew Perry has confirmed that he is to check himself in to rehab for the 3rd time.
The Friends star, who played Chandler Bing in the sitcom, has fought an addiction to painkillers and alcohol in the past.
'I'm making plans to go away for a month to focus on my sobriety and to continue my life in recovery,' says Matthew, 41, in a statement.
He goes on to quip: 'Please enjoy making fun of me on the worldwide web.'
Matthew first checked in to rehab at the Hazelden Foundation in 1997 because he'd developed an addiction to painkiller Vicodin following a jet skiing accident.
In 2001, he received more treatment at the Promises Center after he was hospitalised for pancreatitis due to excessive alcohol consumption.
'It actually had very little to do with courage at first. It's kind of a life or death situation,' he told Oprah Winfrey in 2004 about his decision to get help.
'So what saved me was finally getting a bit of clarity in my life and realising that this was it. If I keep living my life this way, there isn't going to be any life.
'So you ultimately... I guess the keyword is "surrender", and you realise that you need help, so you finally ask for it and you realise the "Matthew Perry Plan" sucks.'
A spokesperson for the actor, whose weight has fluctuated dramatically throughout his career, has confirmed that Matthew hasn't yet checked in to the facility.
