Chris Moyles walked away from the Sony Radio Academy Awards empty handed last night after losing out to Ronnie Wood in the Music Radio Personality Of The Year category.
Though judges described Radio 1 DJ Chris as 'fun and funny', the night was all about 63-year-old Rolling Stones rocker Ronnie and his Absolute Radio Show.
'An amazing character and a really innovative programme,' they said.
'Ronnie has lived the life of a thousand men and you feel like a child sitting at his feet as he unfolds his rarefied story book and recounts his great adventures.'
In a further blow, Chris and his team weren't even nominated for Breakfast Show Of The Year, which was won by Radio 5 Live's Nicky Campbell and Shelagh Fogarty. The station nabbed 6 prizes in all.
Chris' colleague Zane Lowe managed to walk away with Music Broadcaster Of The Year for a 4th time, while cancer sufferer Danny Baker won Speech Radio Personality Of The Year after his return to work at BBC London post treatment.
TalkSPORT was named national station of the year.
