SHOCK! Declan Donnelly splits from Georgie Thompson

TV presenters Dec and Georgie end relationship

Georgie Thompson and Declan Donnelly had been dating since January 2009

Britain's Got Talent co-host Declan Donnelly has split from Sky Sports presenter Georgie Thompson after more than 2 years of dating.

Declan - one half of TV favourites Ant and Dec - is believed to have called time on the romance because he wasn't ready to settle down and get married. 

'Dec and Georgie's relationship has sadly come to an end,' confirms a spokesman for Dec.

'Nobody else was involved and they remain good friends.'

Back in December, Dec admitted he was in no rush to take his relationship with Georgie to the next step.

'[Getting married] will be something that happens when the time is right,' Dec, 35, told Buzz.

'But I don't hear a ticking clock.' 

Georgie, 33, Tweeted on Saturday: 'Breaking silence momentarily simply to say thank you for all your kind messages this morning. It means a great deal at a difficult time. X.'

Before getting together with Georgie, Dec was in a relationship with actress Clare Buckfield, 34, his childhood sweetheart. They broke up in 2004.

Dec's professional partner Ant McPartlin, 35, is married to make-up artist Lisa Armstrong. He was best man at their wedding in 2006.
