Peter Andre has been helping Elen Rivas prepare for the London Marathon

Peter Andre and Elen Rivas's romance is over after 4 and a half months.

Manager Claire Powell says: 'I can confirm Peter and Elen have sadly split, but they will remain the best of friends.'

Peter, 38, and Elen, 36, got together at joint manager Claire's 45th birthday party on 20 November last year and have always denied claims of a faux-mance.

But they agreed there was no point continuing to see each other on Friday.

'I did adore Elen, she is so stunning. But the fact is I just didn't get to see her in the end,' Peter told a pal, reports The News Of The World.

'[Our children] had no idea we were ever dating. I was always very careful to make sure that. Elen and I wouldn't sleep in the same bed if they were there.

'They only know her as my friend. Until I know I've found The One I'm going to marry I don't want to confuse them.'

Peter, 38, cosied up to Amy Childs and Kerry Katona at the opening of Danielle Brown's cafe recently and took good mate Nicola McLean on a family day out with his children at Chessington World of Adventures last week.

The singer was married to Katie Price for 4 years, but the pair divorced in September 2009. She's now loved-up with Leandro Penna after dumping 2nd husband Alex Reid.

'I've got a lot of good things in my life: the children, my family, my work and I'm really happy with Elen [Rivas],' Peter told Now last month. 'But I wish I could just get away from it all.'

Now the singer is free to do as he pleases.
