Chris Moyles targeted by 'stalker' during Radio 1 marathon broadcast for Comic Relief

A man arrested at the Radio 1 studios is believed to have been heading to Chris Moyles’ studio

Police confirm a man was arrested at around 11.20pm on Wednesday

An intruder to the Radio 1 studios was arrested on Wednesday night during DJ Chris Moyles' record-breaking broadcast for Comic Relief.

The 26-year-old man is believed to have been trying to get to Chris, who's been a victim of stalking in the past.

‘It was quite scary but BBC security dealt with the situation very quickly,' a Radio 1 source tells the Daily Mirror.

Guards restrained the intruder, but not before he had run through reception and reportedly damaged Radio 1 property.

The scare happened while Chris and Comedy Dave Vitty were in the process of breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest music show by a radio team.

The pair managed to stay on air for 52 hours and raised a total of £2,406,648 for Comic Relief.
