Susan Boyle is giving up sweets and chocolate for Lent

Susan Boyle has set tongues wagging after her appearance in Glasgow yesterday.

The Britain's Got Talent star turned up to launch SCIAF's Wee Box Big Change Lent campaign with a ring on her third finger left hand, sparking rumours that SuBo may have a special man in her life.

The sparkler is not unlike Kate Middleton's engagement ring - a sparkling oval blue sapphire surrounded by diamonds.

Susan, 49 - who was in good spirits at the event - nearly got married years ag, but it wasn't to be.

'I had a boyfriend, John, who worked in an office,' she told Weekend magazine.

'He asked me to marry him after 7 weeks, although we'd only ever had a peck on the cheek.

'But he eventually got cold feet.'

Susan will be putting the money she saves from giving up treats for Lent into the Wee Box to raise money for some of the poorerst countries in the world.
