Susan Boyle's voice can be heard on a series of adverts for Japanese beer.

Fans in the Far East recognised Scottish Susan's distinctive tones on the ad, which features the theme from classic 40s film The Third Man.

‘I have seen a lot of chat on the forums about whether or not it is me singing the tune to The Third Man in a Japanese advertisement for Yebisu Beer,' says Susan, 49.

‘I can confirm that it is me.

‘The offer came via Sony Japan and it just seemed like a bit of fun. I really enjoyed it.'

Britain's Got Talent runner-up Susan is heard humming in the ad as two Japanese men enjoy a pint of Yebisu overlooking a forest. 

‘I didn't expect anyone to really notice but you are an investigative bunch,' she wrote in a message to fans.

‘I didn't expect to receive so many lovely compliments about it though so thank you very much.'
