Girls Aloud are planning to reform for a world tour next year.
But before taking to the road, it's reported the girlband will first wait for Cheryl Cole to find success across the pond with her almost-confirmed role as a judge on The US X Factor.
'Early next year is pencilled in for the reunion tour,' says a source.
'It's going to be absolutely massive.
'Cheryl could be a US superstar by then if her appearance on American X Factor goes according to plan this autumn, so they want to capitalise on that.'
The Girls Aloud gang - Cheryl, 27, Sarah Harding, 29, Nadine Coyle, 25, Nicola Roberts, 25, and
Kimberley Walsh, 29 - have been taking an extended break from life as a band, all pursuing solo projects almost a decade on from finding fame on ITV reality show Popstars: The Rivals.
As well as taking advantage of Cheryl's success, the band also hopes to make the most of Sarah's recent engagement to her DJ boyfriend Tom Crane.
'It will be the band's 10-year anniversary in 2012, so the timing is just perfect,' the source tells the Daily Star.
'And with Sarah's wedding being the showbiz marriage of the year, the girls will be back to the height of their fame again.'
