Cheryl Cole is finding it hard to quit smoking.

The X Factor judge admitted to Piers Morgan in October that she likes the odd cigarette.

'I probably smoke about 5 a day, not many - but probably 20 today,' she told him in a TV interview.

But despite playing it down, it seems the feisty Geordie's well and truly addicted to nicotine. 

'I miss smoking when I stop,' Cheryl, 27, tells Metro.

'It's not cool to say so but I do.'

Cheryl had a turbulent 2010 involving a divorce from Ashley Cole, a bout of malaria and a tough time in the press over Gamugate, so she was puffing away harder than ever.

Of course, she's not the only VIP who loves a fag.

Simon Cowell, Johnny Depp and Charlotte Church are all smokers, too.
