Courteney Cox's husband David Arquette enters rehab 'broken-hearted'

Actor admits to drinking a lot after trial separation

David Arquette and Courteney Cox have been married for 11 years

David Arquette's rep has confirmed the actor is seeking help in rehab after 'a tough couple of months'.

David and wife Courteney Cox started a trial separation in October.

'He is dealing with a broken heart. He can't handle all the changes in his life. All his inner demons came out,' a source tells People.

During a recent interview on Howard Stern's radio show, David, 39, confessed he'd been 'drinking a lot'.

'Everybody's worried and concerned about me,' he said. 'When I drink, I become a maniac.'

David and Courteney - who are parents to Coco, 6 - are hoping to save their marriage.

'We have agreed to a trial separation that dates back for some time,' read their statement last year.

'The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage.

'We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply.

'We are comfortable with the boundaries that we have established for each other during this separation and we hope that our friends, family, fans and the media also show us respect, dignity, understanding and love at this time as well.'

Friends star Courteney, 46, and David met in 1996 while filming Scream.

They tied the knot in June 1999 in San Francisco.
