Actress Natalie Cassidy to reprise role of Sonia Fowler for New Year special of BBC soap EastEnders

Natalie Cassidy is making a one-off comeback on EastEnders.

The actress will return as Sonia Fowler over the New Year after her screen half-sister Bianca Butcher, played by Patsy Palmer, goes missing. 

'True to form, Bianca has got herself into big trouble and, scared about what might happen, she does a runner,' a source tells The Sun.

'Sonia then turns up unannounced - and drops the bombshell that she knows where Bianca is and what she is going to do next.

'But while Sonia is there other truths start to surface and viewers will find out what she and her husband Martin have been up to.'

Natalie, 27, quit EastEnders in February 2007 and briefly returned earlier this year.
