Jake Gyllenhaal: I still miss Heath Ledger

The Hollywood actors became close on the set of Brokeback Mountain

Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath were like brothers

Jake Gyllenhaal is still grieving for close pal Heath Ledger, nearly three years after his tragic death.

The two Hollywood actors bonded during the filming of the Oscar-winning Brokeback Mountain, playing cowboys Ennis and Jack who fall in love and conduct a secret relationship for 20 years.

'It was just us by this river in Calgary for a month, in the middle of nowhere,' Jake says.

'There were no hotels to stay in, so we lived in trailers out there in
the wilds.

'We were out there alone and all we had was each other.'

Heath died in January 2008 from an accidental overdose of prescription medication.

'I do miss him,' Jake tells Live magazine. 'There was an intimacy that we all shared on that film - I'd never experienced anything like it.'

Jake, 30, is godfather to Matilda, Heath's daughter with their Brokeback Mountain co-star Michelle Williams.
