Actor Johnny Depp explains how he fell for partner Vanessa Paradis

Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis have been together since 1998

When Johnny Depp spotted Vanessa Paradis in a Paris hotel nearly 13 years ago, he knew she was the love of his life.

'I was doing a film with Roman Polanksi, The Ninth Gate, and across the room I saw this woman's back,' he recalls.

'I saw this neck attached to the back, and I was sort of fascinated by it. Honestly, it was a very beautiful sculptural thing, then suddenly the back and the neck turned, and it had a face.'

Johnny, 47, had met Vanessa, 37, years before and the French singer and actress asked, 'Hi, do you remember me?'

'I knew it was over - I was done,' he tells The Sunday Times.

'I was in big trouble from that second on.'

Johnny and Vanessa, 38, are now parents to Lily-Rose, 11, and John, 8, known as 'Jack'.
