Rachel Weisz splits from fiancé Darren Aronofsky

Actress Rachel Weisz and director Darren Aronofsky will remain friends

Rachel Weisz and Darren Aronofsky were together for 9 years

Rachel Weisz has called off her engagement to director fiancé Darren Aronofsky.

The couple - who are parents to Henry Chance, 4 - have released a joint statement confirming the split. 

'Rachel Weisz and Darren Aronofsky have been separated for some months,' it reads.

'They remain close friends and are committed to raising their son together in New York.'

Rachel, 39, and Darren, 41, have been together for 9 years. 

They got engaged in 2005 and worked together on 2006 film The Fountain.
