SHOCK! Coleen Nolan almost loses arm in horse accident

Loose Women star Coleen Nolan may need operation

Coleen Nolan was married to former EastEnders actor Shane Richie

Coleen Nolan nearly had her arm torn off in a freak accident at a horse stables in Cheshire on Friday.

The Loose Women star broke 2 fingers on her right hand when she tried to free a pony that had got its reins trapped on a door.

'I tried to lift the collar free,' explains Coleen, 45. 'But he reared up with all his strength, crushing my hand.

'I thought he was going to pull off my fingers or yank my arm out of its socket. I think he would have done it too but the door smashed open, freeing my hand.'

Coleen was rushed to a hospital in Wythenshawe, Manchester, where her wedding ring had to be cut off her finger because it had been crushed. 

'The doctor said I was lucky not have lost my fingers,' she tells the Daily Mirror. 'Instinctively [after the accident] I popped it back in the socket, although it was still pointing at a strange angle...

'My ring finger and index finer are both broken in three separate places and my arm and wrist are dislocated.' 

Coleen is now recovering at home and will return to hospital tomorrow to find out if she needs surgery to fix her hand. 

A series of guest presenters will stand in for her on Loose Women until she's well enough to return.

'I'm right-handed so I'm struggling to do anything,' she adds. 'I hope I'm back to normal soon.'
