Lady Gaga was so delighted with the way she looked on the cover of Japanese Men's Vogue in a bikini constructed from raw meat, she decided to have a steak dress made, too.
Gaga wore the bloody creation to the VMA 2010 and teamed it with meat platform wedges and a steak handbag.
'I never thought I'd be asking Cher to hold my meat purse,' she singer quipped before collecting her 8 awards.
But the fleshy ensemble wasn't the most comfortable creation.
'This outfit's too heavy to walk in,' Gaga admitted. 'I apologise if I'm a little slow this evening.'
The 24-year-old's 'meatkini' cover image has already caused controversy,
'No matter how beautifully it is presented, flesh from a tortured animal is flesh from a tortured animal,' says Ingrid Newkirk, president of animal rights group PETA.
‘However you dress it up, meat represents bloody violence, torture and suffering.'
But Gaga - real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta - may be left fuming when she finds out she's not the first to model meat couture.
Designer Jia Crens attracted the wrath of vegetarian groups and animal rights activists when she attended a party in a dress made of bacon in 2009.
