Holly Willoughby handed over her Xtra Factor job to new girl on the block Konnie Huq, 35, to focus on hosting This Morning, but insiders say Holly, 29, still isn't settled on the daytime show.
‘Holly wishes she could turn back the clock on The Xtra Factor and thinks she did a better job than Konnie's doing,' an ITV insider tells Now.
'She really misses Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue.
‘Right now she's contracted to stay at This Morning for at least another year and feels she must see it through, but she's yearning for new projects.'
And among those are acting roles.
‘Holly's already had a small cameo in Miss Marple and really enjoyed it,' a mole tells Now.
‘Acting is something she's always wanted to do.'
Although a This Morning spokesperson tells Now that Holly doesn't plan to leave the show, sources close to the former children's TV presenter, who gave birth to son Harry last May, say her desire to extend her family has also made her keen to pursue other work.
‘Holly adores her family and is desperate to give Harry a brother or sister,' adds the insider.
‘She and her husband Dan Baldwin agree that they don't want a big age gap between their kids.
'She'll stick at This Morning for a good while yet, but it's not quite the "dream job" she thought it would be.'
