Hollywood couple excited about new addition to the family

John Travolta and Kelly Preston lost son Jett to a seizure last year

John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston have announced they are expecting a baby boy.

The couple's rep confirmed reports about the new addition to their family today.

The good news comes after a traumatic time for the A-lister couple who lost their son last year.

'This baby is such a healing baby,' a family friend told People.

John and Kelly first announced they were expecting in May.

'It's impossible to keep a secret...especially one as wonderful as this,' read a statement on John's website.

'We want to be the first to share this great news with everyone that we are expecting a new addition to our family.'

The couple celebrated their happy news with an intimate gathering at their LA home.

John, 56, and Kelly, 47,who have been married for 19 years, are already parents to Ella Bleu, 10. 

In January 2009, their 16-year-old son Jett died after suffering a seizure while at the family holiday home in the Bahamas.
