SHOCK! Armed man arrested outside Paris Hilton's home

An armed man was arrested outside Paris Hilton's LA home yesterday morning.

The incident took place around 6.30am local time.

'In the early hours of [Tuesday] morning an armed man with two kitchen knives attempted to break in to Paris Hilton's home when she was sleeping,' reads a statement from her rep.

'The security cameras and alarm system were alerted and the police immediately came to the house and arrested the intruder who was attempting to break a window when they arrived.

'She is naturally shaken by the events but is unharmed and well.'

Paris, 29, later wrote about the drama on her Twitter page and even posted a photo of police arresting the man. 

'So scary, just got woken up to a guy trying to break into my house
holding 2 big knives,' she writes. 'Cops are here arresting him.'

Officer Gregory Baek has confirmed that a man was taken into custody at 6.30am yesterday.

In 2008, Paris was left devastated when burglars got away with an estimated $2million in valuables during a break-in at her LA mansion.
