Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen got together in 2007

Rachel Bilson has split from fiancé Hayden Christensen.

The couple were rumoured to be on a break for some time but now the actress's rep has confirmed the separation.

'Yes, the engagement is off,' she tells People.

The spokesperson declined to provide further details, but it's thought Rachel and Hayden struggled to maintain their long-distance relationship.

She is based in LA, while he lives in Canada. 

Rachel, 28, met Hayden, 29, on the set of Jumper in 2007.

They got engaged in December 2008.
