Derek Hough to propose to Cheryl Cole 'within a year'?

Derek Hough is reportedly planning to propose to Cheryl Cole later this year.

The Dancing With The Stars hunk has been linked to the Girls Aloud singer since starring in the video for her single Parachute.

But before Derek can get down on one knee, Cheryl will have to finalise her divorce from Chelsea footballer Ashley.  

'The only reason he hasn't pushed it is because she's so recently split from Ashley,' a source tells the Sunday People.

'But when the time's right, within a year he thinks, he'll ask her.' 

Cheryl, 27, and Derek, 25, are currently on holiday in the States following her battle with malaria.

Yesterday, they enjoyed a romantic meal at Beverly Hills steakhouse Cut.

Cheryl looked stunning as she arrived in a blue satin dress.
