Rihanna to make acting debut

Singer signs on to appear in Battleship

Rihanna is keen to start a movie career

Rihanna is to star in her first movie. 

The singer will make her acting debut in action flick Battleship, her rep has confirmed.

The film is inspired by the classic board game. 

Rihanna, 22, will star alongside True Blood hunk Alexander Skarsgård and actor Taylor Kitsch. 

Peter Berg is set to direct, reports E! Online. 

Battleship is due in cinemas in May 2012.
