Paris Hilton 'Nazi salute' picture explained

Heiress says photo has been 'completely misrepresented'

Paris Hilton is on holiday in St Tropez

Paris Hilton has furiously denied making a Nazi salute while on holiday.

The heiress, wearing a military-style hat, was photographed appearing to do a Hitler impression as she partied on a yacht in St Tropez yesterday. 

The socialite looks as if she has a finger above her lip to indicate the Führer's moustache and her arm extended in a Nazi salute.

But a rep for Paris, 29, says there is an innocent explanation. 

'She was dancing and having fun with her arm up in the air, as she always dances like that, and was scratching her face when a photo was taken,' reads a statement.

'These photos of Paris have been completely misrepresented. She did not make a reference to Hitler.

'The hat was not a communist hat, it's a military-style hat from a club. Half of her family is Jewish and many of her friends are as well. She is extremely upset by these allegations.'
