Christine Bleakley is to be replaced by little-known Welsh TV star Alex Jones on The One Show.
The 32-year-old has signed a £100,000-a-year deal to present the BBC programme with comedian Jason Manford from 16 August.
Alex - who looks like Christine's twin sister - has been hosting Welsh-language children's series for the past 10 years, but is relatively unknown in the rest of the UK.
'I watch the show at home every night on my sofa and can't believe I'm now swapping it for The One Show sofa,' she says.
'It is the break I have only ever dreamed of and can't believe I'm getting to work with Jason Manford who I think is just fantastic - it truly is the icing on the cake.'
Christine, 31, signed a deal with ITV last month to front a new programme to replace GMTV.
She and former One Show co-host Adrian Chiles will launch Daybreak in September.
