John James Parton's mum Helena admits that Big Brother housemate Josie isn't his usual type.

Her son usually goes for stunners who look like models, but the relationships never last.

'I think that it's personality that counts and Josie's got that,' says the nurse from Melbourne.

In the BB house, 24-year-old John James always seems to be in tears about something and Helena says he was a very sensitive boy at school.

'All the girls were taller than him and didn't take him seriously,' she recalls.

'He would often come home upset and didn't know how to handle it.'

Fortunately, John James had a growth spurt and then realised he looked a bit like David Beckham...
