Sylvester Stallone has revealed that his wife had their dog neutered because its tackle clashed with the curtains.

The actor says Jennifer Flavin, 41, had the pooch snipped while he was away filming Rambo in 2008.

‘Unfortunately a certain portion of his body - his reproduction system - was red,' explains Sly, 64. ‘My wife said, "This is clashing with my drapes."

‘So I go off to do Rambo and I come back and my dog has now been turned into a chipette.'

Sylvester admits he was gutted because he bought the Catahoula leopard dog - considered to be the thug of the canine world - to redress the male-female imbalance at home.

‘Everything is the house is female - the cats, the dogs, the wife and children,' he explains on The Late Show With David Letterman.

‘I wanted to have one male companion. So I went out and bought the toughest dog in the world.'
