Cheryl Cole's weight is believed to have fallen to under 7st.
The 5ft 3in star - who was 7½st to 8st before she collapsed with malaria on 4 July - is so fragile, doctors are reported to have banned her from dancing for as long as 6 months.
The good news is that Cheryl's mum Joan Callaghan and close friend Derek Hough are encouraging her to build up her strength at her £6 million Surrey home.
'Cheryl understands that she now has to follow medical advice,' a source tells the News Of The World.
'Her ridiculously busy work routine is off so there's time for her to focus on getting healthy and putting the weight back on.'
Celebrity nutritionist Nicki Waterman tells Now that image-conscious Cheryl, who ironically climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for Comic Relief's anti-malaria campaign last March, needs to eat plenty of carbs.
‘She needs to be taking in at least 1,800-2,000 calories a day,' says Nicki.
‘She's not a big carbs fan, but she has no choice right now. It will be key in repairing her body.'
