Christina Milian splits from husband The-Dream

Couple vow to remain friends for sake of daughter Violet

Christina Milian and The Dream renewed their vows in December in Rome

Christina Milian and The-Dream have separated after less than a year of marriage.

The couple - who are parents to Violet, 5 months - got engaged in June 2009 and became man and wife in Las Vegas in September.

‘Terius "The-Dream" Nash is saddened to announce that his marriage to Christina Milian was unsuccessful,' his rep tells Us Weekly.

‘The couple reached this decision in late 2009, but decided to keep the news private in efforts to protect their baby daughter Violet.

‘They ask for consideration and respect for their family moving forward.'

The split comes after The-Dream, 32, was snapped with his assistant Melissa Santiago on holiday in the Caribbean.

Christina, 28, previously dated Mariah Carey's husband Nick Cannon.

The-Dream has 3 children from his marriage to singer Nivea.
