Michael Jackson researched surgery procedures that could give his chimp Bubbles the ability to speak, according to sister La Toya.
The King Of Pop spent thousands of pounds consulting specialists about implanting vocal chords in his pet monkey during the 1980s.
'Michael always wanted to know how to make Bubbles speak and talk,' explains La Toya.
'He wanted to give him vocal chords and asked doctors, "Can I give him an operation so that I can know what his thoughts are?"'
But after 4 years of trying, Michael realised surgery would probably kill Bubbles.
The chimp was moved out of the family home in California to an animal sanctuary in 1988 because he became too big.
'Sometimes he would swing on a chandelier and fly onto a table,' La Toya tells the News Of The World.
'Michael would scream "No, no".'
Bubbles is now 26 and lives at The Great Ape Sanctuary in Florida.
