Dannii Minogue gave birth to baby Ethan by Cesarian

The X Factor judge had wanted to deliver son at home

Dannii Minogue and Kris Smith are new parents

Dannii Minogue gave birth by Cesarian, boyfriend Kris Smith's mum Elsie has revealed.

The X Factor judge, 38, welcomed son Ethan Edward Smith at the Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, on Monday.

Dannii had hoped to give birth at home but doctors thought the 8lb 3oz baby would be too big. 

'She's so tiny it was decided he should be delivered by Cesarian,' explains Elsie. 

Dannii is already thought to be recovering well from the operation. 

'She and Kris are both absolutely over the moon,' Elsie tells The Sun.

'Ethan's beautiful, he has fair hair. They are both looking forward to getting him home and starting life as a family.'
