Singer takes advice from American chat show host

Alicia Keys thinks of Oprah Winfrey as her big sister

Alicia Keys has decided to live her life according to the gospel of Oprah Winfrey.

The singer took the TV presenter's advice following a near-breakdown in 2006.

‘No one warns you how hard it is to adjust to fame,' says Alicia.

‘I'd had this great career but I had no life, I needed to get my life back.'

Alicia, 29, sorted out her head and her single Empire State Of Mind with Jay-Z became a global hit.

The R'n'B artist was advised by Oprah to keep personal information under wraps and this has become her new motto.

‘A while ago she gave me one piece of advice which was to never get drawn into talking about that sort of thing,' Alicia tells Fabulous.

'Right now my life is really, really good. Love fills you up like nothing else can.

‘Oprah Winfrey is the wisest woman I know. She's like my big, clever, older sister.'

Alicia married fiancé Swizz Beatz in July and their son Egypt was born in October.
