Things have dramatically cooled between Simon Cowell and Mezhgan Hussainy.

The pair, who were first romantically linked at his 50th birthday party in October, are living separate lives according to an insider.

‘Simon's had a case of cold feet,' the source tells Now.

‘He's overwhelmed and gets embarrassed when teased by his friends like Ryan Seacrest about how over the top he's been about Mezhgan. He's put a stop to his public declarations of love for her.'

Now's also learnt that 
make-up artist Mezhgan, who attended all the Britain's Got Talent auditions, was bizarrely absent from the live shows.


‘He used to proudly show her off to staff,' says an ITV source. ‘Then all of a sudden, she 
just disappeared. She's not following him around everywhere like she used to.'

According to our insider, it's Simon's guilt about what it 
is he can offer his 37-year-
old girlfriend emotionally that's been a major factor.

‘Sometimes he gets into moods where he doesn't want to talk to anyone,' says our source. ‘He still says no woman should have to put up with that.'
